 “BEARDS, BREASTS, AND BODIES” – Raine Dozer

Dozier in his article talks about the manner in which sex and gender are related in a complex way. He talks about how both these terms have their importance in a individual manner but are subconsciously interchanged without being aware of the basic difference between the two. Another point made by the author is the manner in which bodily characteristics of an individual assist somebody with choosing the individual's Sex or Gender. Sex is frequently viewed as the directing purposes of an individual's sex. The article also discusses how Gender and Sex both are social develop alongside sexuality.

“DECOLONIZING TRANSGENDER IN INDIA” – Aniruddha Dutta

Aniruddha Dutta and Raina Roy, in this article, have mainly focused on the sexually marginalised communities in the eastern part of our country. The authors here talk about the social identity and position of the Transgender communities in our society and the manner in which they are addressed as Hijra, Kothis, Jananis, Gandu etc. The authors also talk about how the society has coverted Transgender into an umbrella term which includes various types of gender identities. They also discuss about the hierarchy within this community as a result of different class and caste. The Transgenders in our society not only face identity issues but also face sexual abuse and lack of protection by law.
