I shall be summarizing Raine Dozier’s text, “Beards, breasts, and Bodies Doing Sex in a Gendered World.”
The author depicts the relationship between sex and gender and shows how complex it is. The text links the
two terms saying they are socially constructed subjects but are actually very distinct in nature.
The text then goes on to point that trans-sexuality is represented by certain individuals and is not dependent
on social interaction. Sadly, we live in a society where transgenders are treated quite harshly. Hence the society
forces these communities to retreat to those methods which would make them look the way they want to be
perceived as. This finally can lead to them from being themselves. The author focuses on sex, gender and
sexuality. 

Susan Stryker in her article, “Transgender Feminism - Queering the Woman Question” explains the
significance of studying the subject of feminism through the lens of a transgender. According to the
writer, every feminist theory in today’s context can collect a lot if they try to understand the transgender
movements in depth. The main problem is that discerning gender into two binaries restricts the transgenders
and also increases the difficulty for others.
