COMPULSORY
HETEROSEXUALITY AND LESBIAN EXISTENCE (week-4)
I experienced
this compulsion of heterosexuality while conducting the experiment for the
gender in action assignment, when my parents told me that I can learn to love
boys because that is the basic tendency of females. The compulsion of loving or
being attracted towards the opposite gender is a huge problem in our society. Even
the women who call themselves feminist do not support lesbians; they either
fire their lesbian co-workers or force them to not come out. People believe
lesbians are born out of their spite against men and that lesbians don’t actually
exist as proved in the reading in several accounts. People believe that women
are only to fulfill the sexual carnations of men and to reproduce. They force
heterosexuality as homosexuality has been made abnormal by the society because
raising a family together is normal only for a man and a woman not for two men
or women. Being a lesbian is more difficult than being gay, I feel this way
because women are forced to be economically dependent and are forced to stay in
hiding and raise a baby with a man, she can’t run away from the bonds of
marriage. The fact that in various parts of our world burning of female
clitoris is happening shows male domination in even sexual relations, a woman should
not touch herself and should only receive pleasure from a male is one of the
sick truths of our society.
